In April 2010, Encitra began a new project to model a sector of San Jose, Calif. Encitra’s virtual model will focus on the area where the City’s proposed automated transit network (ATN) will link Mineta San Jose International Airport terminals with long term parking, Skyport, light rail on North First Street, VTA bus and rail lines as well as other proposed mass transit options under consideration. The model will also include an ATN loop linking up with the proposed high speed rail connection at the Diridon Station.
Uppsala, Sweden, Visualization Model
Encitra conducted early studies and a proof-of-concept visualization model in 2007-2008. During 2009, Encitra began working on the first urban planning, transportation and real estate development model for the city of Uppsala, Sweden. That project is still evolving but is now available for demonstration purposes. The true benefits of Encitra's modeling capabilities can be best understood when viewed in our live, open source, format. If you would like to review Encitra's capabilities by scheduling a demo of the Uppsala model or would like to talk about your interest in potential modeling projects, please send an email to info@encitra.com.
Encitra Visualization Model of Podcar System at Uppsala, Sweden Transportation Center
City planners in Uppsala, Sweden wanted to see how a proposed personal rapid transportation (PRT) or "podcar" system would integrate with the historic Uppsala Central Station. Encitra's team of developers modeled a 1/2 square mile area surrounding the Central Station and added a virtual representation of the proposed podcar system. This immersive model, from which the video was made, shows how the podcar system connects and integrates with the existing mass transit network of trains, buses, taxis, plus pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Traffic Simulation
Encitra can model 3D traffic simulation in real time. For example buses and trains can be modeled on their actual schedules. Vehicle traffic can be modeled in a random mode, such as in this sample video, or modeled to reflect specified traffic density.
Public Transportation Simulation
In addition to modeling existing structures in a city's virtual model, Encitra can provide public transportation simulation. In this video, Encitra has modeled a proposed personal rapid transit (PRT) station, showing trains arriving on existing tracks and commuters transferring to the PRT station where they can access an on-demand podcar to continue their commute.
